Mr. Kernkamp has applied his expertise to such widely divergent subjects as the aerodynamics of the bulb keel of Dennis Connor's "Stars & Stripes" for the 1992 America's Cup, flutter analysis on the Douglas DC-8 and Boeing 707, and aerodynamic loads analyses of radomes for the Lockheed C-130 and of weight increases for the DC-8 and Boeing 727. Prominent among his litigation experiences is the analysis of the capsizing of the "TEMI IV" before the High Court of the Netherlands. He is an FAA Designated Engineering Representative in aircraft structures.
