A practicing psychiatrist for 18 years, he is board certified in child and general psychiatry. He is Past President of the Southern California Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UCLA and USC. As founding Director of Research at Hathaway Children and Family Services he led a study of the long-term effects of trauma.
Currently Chief, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Crisis and Emergency Service, University of Southern California, and in private practice, general and child psychiatry.
