Michael A. Calabrese is a multi-skilled tradesman and has been a "hands-on" California Licensed General Building Contractor since 1986. Over the past ten years he has shifted his focus and expertise onto developing his skills as a technical forensic consultant and expert witness. He has successfully assisted lawyers, deputy district attorney's and insurance professionals in winning cases related to tracing the cause and origin of water intrusion resulting in mold growth and collateral damage; personal injury resulting from faulty construction components; job site safety; standards of care applied; contractor professional diligence; contractor license laws; earthquake repair analyses; cost estimates; cost comparisons and analyses, to name a few.

He taught a course that prepared individuals to take the state examination required to become licensed in California. He has had training in Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR), mediation and arbitration, and has heard and arbitrated innumerable cases under the California Contractor's State License Board's ADR program. He conducted site inspections and compiled analytical reports under the California Contractor's State License Board's "Industry Expert" program for almost ten years, and was one of several panelists appointed to the CSLB's "Earthquake Response Team" in 1995 and part of 1996.
