Prompt, accurate, and convenient medical consultation. Dr. Shepard is founding director of Marin County's acute and chronic dialysis units, which Marin General Hospital physicians voted first place among subspecialty services at the hospital in 2004.

Other experiences include: President, Marin Heart Association; Chairman, Marin General Intensive Care Unit; Chief of Medicine Marin General Hospital; founding member of the Marin Chapter of the Kidney Association and the Scientific Advisory Board for the Northern California Kidney Association.

After 40 years, Dr. Shepard closed his busy clinical practice in August 2005 to devote his full attention to legal consultation and expert witness services.

In October 2005, Dr. Shepard received a commendation for Clinical Excellence from the President of the Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology.

In 2007 he was chosen to attend the International Renal Failure Academy in Romania, and in 2008 he will be participating in the Asian Pacific Congress of Nephrology in Kuala Lumpur.
