Stephen A. Batzer, Ph.D., P.E., is Director at The Engineering Institute. Areas of expertise include vehicle crashworthiness (automotive glazing, roof crush and seatbacks), materials science and materials failure mechanisms (fatigue, stress overload, corrosion, creep), forensic engineering, accident reconstruction and occupant kinematics analysis. Licensed in Michigan, Arkansas and Alabama, he has taught numerous university-level courses on such topics as physical metallurgy, materials, manufacturing and design.
