Prepared a Research Report describing fire safety/means of egress, building code violations found in 1 year's worth of projects given building permits in Corpus Christi.

Studied fire science and fire protection engineering, since 2002, with special emphasis on reasons for building codes requirements, performance-based design, and alternatives to the building code.

Participated in code development for the building, existing building & performance codes over the last 13 years, as well as special ICC Committees. Served on ICC's International Existing Building Code Committee for the 2009/2010 code cycle.

Studied building code case law, building code enforcement, architect/engineer liability law, and the expert witness process.

Over 40 years of architectural design and service in a general practice, designing new buildings and renovations for commercial buildings, government and university buildings, churches, residential projects & service for fire restoration projects. An employee for 9 years, a sole proprietor for 31.

Served 5 years on Kingsville's Planning & Zoning Commission, where we adopted new zoning & subdivision ordinances.
