Dr. Stieg has a private practice of pain and addiction medicine in Denver, Colorado. He also specializes in plaintiff and defense litigation support services: file reviews, IMEs, medical consultation and expert witnessing for cases involving traumatic brain injury, chronic pain treatment, opioid and other drug abuse/addiction, disability and wrongful death.

He has been the medical director of several rehab centers for traumatic brain injury and chronic pain and drug addicted patients. He is board certified in Pain Medicine (AAPM), Neurology (ABN&P) and Addiction Medicine (ASAM). He is a founding member, current board member and tenth President (1994-1995) of the AAPM. He is the author of many journal articles and book chapters and held editorial positions on several professional journals, including the Clinical Journal of Pain, Pain Forum, Pain Medicine and Disability. He remains very active in medical, legal, regulatory and academic activities for the AAPM.
