William R. Acorn is principal and founder of Acorn Consulting Services, LLC. As a consulting mechanical engineer specializing in the built environment, he provides project design and management, mentoring and advanced training, forensic analysis, litigation consulting, and expert testimony at legal proceedings.

Since graduating “with distinction” with a BSME degree from the University of Arizona and obtaining licensure as a Professional Mechanical Engineer, Mr. Acorn has accumulated more than 45 years’ experience as a consulting engineer. He is an internationally recognized authority on assessing, evaluating, conceptualizing and remediating complex project design, construction and operational issues related to mechanical systems in buildings. His expertise includes HVAC and refrigeration systems, cleanrooms, plumbing piping and power systems; and building fire code compliance and chemical exposure analysis. Facility types include commercial office buildings, healthcare facilities, institutional laboratories, data centers, and clean manufacturing facilities for semiconductor, pharmaceutical and related advanced technology industries.
