Dr. Martinez-Arizala has many years experience as a practicing physician, university professor and researcher. He is Board Certified in Neurology and Spinal Cord Medicine. Moreover, he served as an assistant professor in the F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine while being active duty in the U.S. Army over 10 years. Dr. Martinez-Arizala is currently Professor of Clinical Neurology at the University of Miami and serves as the Medical Director of the Spine Institute and as a research investigator for The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. Most recently, he served as Chief of the Spinal Cord Injury Service at the Miami VA Medical Center for 13 years where he continues as a VA staff physician. In addition, Dr. Martinez-Arizala has served as an expert witness for more than 25 years in complex spinal cord cases and also has solid experience in conducting independent medical evaluations (IMEs), medical record reviews, and developing and reviewing Life Care Plans.
