Dr. Weber has worked on food safety related issues in the Washington, DC area for over 30 years. This includes 10 years for the USDA, 12 years as the Executive Director of Regulatory Affairs for the cattle industry, and most recently, more than 4 years as the Prevention Manager for the FDA Coordinated Outbreak Response and Evaluation Network. There he was involved in more than 100 high profile foodborne illness outbreaks, from detection through root cause analysis of prevention options. He has testified, under oath, before congressional committees and in legal proceedings. He has certifications as a Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Preventive Controls and Foreign Supplier Verification Program Qualified Individual. He is also involved in compliance education efforts related to the FSMA Produce Safety Rule.
