Dr. John Lefkowits is a board certified clinical psychologist with a forensic specialty. Dr. Lefkowits has testified more than forty times in nine different jurisdictions in Maryland, US Federal Court and DC Superior Court. Dr. Lefkowits has appeared as an expert in many family law matters on topics such as alienation/gatekeeping; relocation, domestic violence, overnights for young children, parenting plans, psychopathology and substance abuse. Additionally, Dr. Lefkowits has often been named or appeared as a peer review witness for custody evaluations, psychological evaluations and mental health testimony. Dr. Lefkowits conducts custody evaluations, forensic psychological evaluations, fitness for duty evaluations and juvenile competency evaluations. Currently Dr. Lefkowits serves on the ethics committee of the Maryland Psychological Association and provides peer review and consultation with the Board of Examiners of Psychological Association and provides peer review and consultation with the Board of Examiners of Psychologists in Maryland. He is a member in good standing in multiple local and national organizations and has often been a speaker for professional groups.
