Kathryn Crous is uniquely qualified to explain the technical architecture of electronic medical records (EMRs) with 15+ years of designing, building, contracting and deploying Cerner, Epic, McKesson, Meditech and Allscripts and many smaller niche departmental vendor products. Her 15+ years as an RN gives a complete understanding of both acute and ambulatory care environments and clinical workflows. Having been a CIO in two major academic health systems in the greater New York City area and having studied to be a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), she understands the entire technical stack, the layers of technology required and can interpret the data flow between foreign systems across the entire enterprise. Interpreting the technology, understand the clinical environment and explaining in simple lay terms to attorneys, judges and juries.
