Dr. Dawson is an Associate Professor (tenured) at the University of Central Florida and Co-Director of the IMOVE™ Lab. She is a Board Certified Geriatric Physical Therapist Emeritus (over 20 years of clinical experience) and a PhD in Adult Development & Aging Psychology from Cleveland State University. She has been recognized for excellence in her field by various organizations. Her research includes developing non-pharmacological interventions to improve function in older adults with chronic disease including those with dementia, gaining a better understanding of the disability experience as well as the training and development of the eldercare workforce.
