Dr Usha Raj is a neonatologist with 36 years of experience. She has served as the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and Head of the Children’s Hospital at the University of Illinois at Chicago (2008-2015) and the Director of the NICU and the Chief of the Division of Neonatology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center (1984-2008). She has trained many neonatologists and continues to be active in teaching medical students, residents, fellows, junior faculty and nurses.
Dr Raj has served as an expert witness for over 20 years. Her area of expertise is in Neonatology. Her special areas of expertise are in Neonatal Pulmonary Hypertension, Lung diseases, Respiratory distress syndrome, meconium aspiration syndrome. Hypoxic ischemic brain injury, cerebral palsy, neonatal resuscitation, birth trauma, and neonatal sepsis.
Her administrative experience enables her to serve as an expert in issues related to Hospital and NICU administration and NICU safety.
