Vera Dvorak, MD, is the Chief Medical Officer and Partner at TD&P Consulting, she is a board-certified internist and geriatrician with more than 40 years of professional experience. Over this period, she has led her profession as a (1) practitioner, (2) health insurance executive, (3) hospital system professional, and (4) medical consultant.
Dr. Dvorak has been a practicing physician, a managed care executive, a strategic member of corporate leadership, and vice president and medical director of hospital-based care coordination. In her role, she was in charge of the appeals department in various managed care organizations; and is the founder of transitional care management for one of the largest healthcare systems in Northern Virginia.
Dr. Dvorak's focus is medical necessity determination, appropriate discharge disposition with defined short and long-term care needs. She is a proponent of consistently applying evidence-based care guidelines to support clinical decision-making on a case-by-case basis and across the continuum of care to maximize the potential for optimal recovery. Her peers acknowledge her as an expert in driving and teaching patient-centered care. Dr. Dvorak is well-read and maintains continuous medical education at 100 hours per year. She has devoted her professional career to individual patient care and ensuring that all patients are treated with dignity and respect, receiving medically necessary at the right level and the right time.
