Trained in Family Medicine in the U. S. Army, Dr. Welker has had over 30 years experience in family medicine and small town ER medicine. He has taken care of an array of issues in family care within the office, and for the past 25 years his experience has included critical care and emergency room trauma medicine.
He also is a Medical Review Officer, and as needed will coordinate federal and state required drug testing with industry and the law.
Dr. Welker has spoken on television, and given community lectures, regarding medical topics of concern. He's had experience in working with prescribing controlled medical substances, and the legal responsibilities surrounding this in chronic and acute pain control.
Some of Dr. Welker's areas of expertise include: Heart attack, strokes, diabetic ketoacidosis, shortness of breath, abdominal pain, trauma, prostate disease, cholesterol management, headaches, sports injuries, cancer screening, and wound care.
Dr. Welker also has been trained in chronic wound management, by Healogics, an organization who has had a military medical base, and has now trained many civilian physicians in current contemporary wound care techniques.
